Training (Phase I)

All courses are stand-alone sessions so a client may pick and choose the topics and the number of hours based upon the education and experience of their workforce, and financial capability.A client may select a 4-hour session, an 8-hour session, or any combination of options from the sessions offered dependent upon financial status, time available, and the desired end-state.The DDLA, LLC is very flexible and adaptable and will work with any client to meet their needs and provide the desired training.If a client selects the entire program, either in consecutive weeks or over a multi-year period, there are 40 hours that constitute the Double Diamond Leadership Academy.

Session Descriptions

Session 1: Leadership Foundations – The Science

This session focuses upon: an introduction to The House of Ledocracy from which great organizations are built; leadership theories; leadership styles; leadership traits; organizational designs; and a comparison of leadership versus management.  The session includes individual and group exercises to emphasize key points.

Session 2: Leadership Foundations – The Art

This session highlights: exploring the many shades of gray in leading people (the art) versus the black & white (the science) of leadership; higher level thinking; varying of leadership styles to achieve the desired affect; decision making; emotional intelligence; conflict resolution; and expectation management.  Video vignettes are used to illustrate key points.

Session 3: Effective Communication

This session will focus upon: written communication; verbal communication; the art of listening; how to control the rumor mill; problem solving; and managing stress.  These topics will be illustrated using a variety of exercises and video vignettes.

Session 4: Creating Teams

This session examines: groups versus teams; cohesion; diversity; real world team examples; empowerment; super teams; quality assurance; continuous quality improvement; and generational perspectives using a variety of group exercises and multi-media.

Session 5: Human Capital/Personnel Management

This session explores: identifying leadership potential; providing leadership opportunities; creating professional development programs; creating leadership profiles; better understanding expectation management; developing career blueprinting; performing effective performance evaluations; and developing a succession plan.  This session uses multi-media and useful tools to illustrate key points.

Session 6: Embracing Diversity & Ethical Behavior

This session outlines: the value of a diverse workforce; diversification versus generalization; and why ethics are important to all leaders and any organization.  Case studies are used in this session.

Session 7: Operations/Training

This session highlights the area that defines the essence of any organization; the value of quality assurance and continuous quality improvement; the need to conduct research; lean six sigma; the importance of planning; and the value of a good training program.  Multi-media and case studies are used to highlight key points.

Session 8: Fiscal and Risk Leadership

This session examines: two key areas of any good organization: sound fiscal practices in constrained environments; and the ability of leaders to assess risk.  Case studies are used in this session.

Session 9: Strategic Blueprinting & Systems and Processes

This session explores: creating strategic plans; institutionalizing policies and procedures to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of any organization.  Examination of strategic plans and analyzing standard operating procedures/guidelines highlight this session.

Session 10: Creating the Right Culture

This session examines: methodologies for leaders to create the proper climate within an organization that can lead to increased productivity and engaged employees; understanding customer service; and changing culture within an organization.  Analysis of historical examples highlight this session.
